Tin o' Beans

Updated: Jul 6, 2020

Picture the scene.  A customer has a basket full of tins of beans and is at the checkout arguing with the cashier.

“But I don’t want to pay that price for these beans!”

Explaining for the fourth time the cashier replies, “But sir, you have filled your basket with our Premier Branded Beans.  They are more expensive than our ‘own’ brand or the ‘Every day value’  option!”

“So.  I don’t have the money to pay for the premium beans”

“Then you can’t have them”

“But they’re my favourite. I don’t like the others.  I need these ones.  I promised my wife!”

“Then you’ll have to pay extra!”

The man points out to the road, “The shop down the road would let me have them at the cheaper price!”

The cashier sighs. “I doubt that sir.  Are you sure about the quality of their beans?”

“I don’t understand why you can’t just let me have them at the cheaper price”

The cashier stares at the man for a moment and then presses the button to summon the manager.

“I need to serve these other people.  Do you mind waiting to one side for the manager to arrive…Thank you.”

“I don’t have the money to pay for the premium beans”

We know that everyone’s looking for a good deal, and having as much stuff for as little money is a challenge for people, especially in business.  At Ground:zero we are constantly looking to provide the best event possible for your budget.  We go all out to provide the best ‘value’ in your budget range. A win-win is our goal but premium beans for blue stripe price: that affects our ability to meet your expectations and that isn’t good for anyone.

For beans on toast there has to be a minimum number beans otherwise lunch is a bit of a sad affair.  That goes with events.  There is a minimum technical specification to meet the basic requirements of being seen and being heard.  These are the cheaper beans and are a minimum requirement.  After that, budget dictates the quality of the bean.

We are good at upgrading a couple of tins if required.  When it comes to the budget Ground:zero provides true transparency

Being expert bean sellers, we have all the bean options you require.

We would love to discuss with you how many tins you can have and what value they will be once we have an idea of your budget. We are good at upgrading a couple of tins if required.  When it comes to the budget, Ground:zero provides true transparency.  We are happy to discuss in detail the costs line by line and explain how they add value to your event and we can discuss any bolt on options that you might require but still keep within your budget.

All we ask is that you understand from our point of view that there are different beans for different budgets.  They are all good beans, it’s just that the sauce is different!

It’s not fair to turn up to the till with premium beans and expect every day value prices.  You wouldn’t do that in Tesco would you?  Would you!!
