2018 - A Summary

2018 has been a very eventful year for Ground:zero.  Firstly, we celebrated 20 years in the event and video production business and for all those who have been part of this crazy journey: from the temporary contractors who’s fleetingly contribution left us with some great memories to the Company Directors who have chosen to venture off in search of new horizons, we thank you all for the parts you have played.

These are the second best financial figures Ground:zero have posted in the full 20 years of business.

2018 alone was a year of great change and great achievement.  For example, there have been many changes in personnel with one Producer leaving to become a client.  Very handy!  And another left to be a freelancer.  We hired him back for a project the very next day.  It’s great to have freelancers who know how we tick.

One of our Account Managers left to have a baby.  She gave birth to a boy who is currently keeping her very occupied.  The family are all doing well and we hope to see our key Account Manager back some time in 2019.

The year ended with one of the Directors deciding that a new direction was required before he was too old to regret not doing it.  A great leap of faith and we wish him well.

This all sounds like people leaving a ‘sinking ship’ but far from it.  We have recruited to replace the people who have left and we welcome aboard a new Account Manager for the beginning of 2019.  We’re still looking for an experienced Project Manager, so if you know someone…contact details below.

It has definitely been a year of change internally but it has produced a stronger company.  A company more focussed on the goal of serving our clients profitably.  So to all our competitors: sorry, but we are stronger than ever, more focussed, with the right team to achieve great things.

To all our clients: a big thank you, we look forward to providing a service that goes beyond the ordinary in 2019.

2018 also saw us consolidate our relationships with our key clients.  You know who you are and it has been great doing business with you.  We will not let complacency be the outcome of your trust in us.

We have also won a number of new clients including becoming a ‘preferred supplier’ to one of them.  To all our clients: a big thank you, we look forward to providing a service that goes beyond the ordinary in 2019.

And to end 2018 it’s looking like it’s going to be the second best financial figures Ground:zero have posted in the full 20 years of business.  A little bit of business development and a little tinkering with costs and that is all it takes…apparently!

So bring on 2019. Twenty one years and counting.
